Current Events
WINTEC is currently supporting the Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) program under development
by the Joint Attack Missile Systems (JAMS) program in Huntsville, AL. JAGM will become the next-
generation replacement for all Army and Navy air-to-surface missiles such as Hellfire, Maverick, and
TOW. The JAGM will employ a tri-mode seeker combined with GPS/IMU for guidance along with other
missile performance improvements. Launch platforms for JAGM will include AH-64D Apache, F/A-18E/
F Super Hornet, F-35 Lightning, MH-60R/S Seahawk, AH-1Z Viper, MQ-1C Gray Eagle, and OH-58 Kiowa.
Upgraded versions of the M299, M310, and UAV launchers along with new Navy Fixed- and Rotary-Wing
Launchers are included.

WINTEC has developed a unique capability to support real-time emulation of the missile and/or
launcher interactions via the MIL-STD-1760 interface with the host aircraft platform. The Multi-
Launcher Emulator (MLE) system developed by WINTEC currently supports up to four platform stations
– with four missile load-outs on each station – for Hellfire and Longbow series missiles. WINTEC is
currently upgrading to the MLE-J hardware and software to add the additional platform and launcher
interface requirements for JAGM – while maintaining backwards compatibility for the legacy missiles
and launchers. By emulating the data, signal, power, discretes, safety, timing and sequencing of the
actual JAGM and/or legacy missiles, the MLE-J provides a very cost-effective approach to integrating
JAGM on the planned ensemble of the Army and Navy host platforms in various Aircraft Integration
Laboratories (AILs) throughout the Nation. The MLE-J greatly minimizes the challenging tasks of
Operational Flight Program (OFP) software modification and integration and testing of aircraft
platforms, launchers and missiles in the AILs.
Since 1983, WINTEC has built a solid reputation for delivering innovative engineering solutions for our customers' toughest problems. Our expertise in systems and software engineering provide these solutions for many military applications—including manned/unmanned aircraft and weapons/sensors integration, ground robotics systems, and unmanned underwater vehicles. Our customers include the US Air Force, US Army, US Navy, SOCOM, and many prime Defense Contractors and commercial-aviation avionics and controls suppliers.
WINTEC maintains our core competencies through our strong team of subject matter experts (SMEs) in aircraft systems and avionics, stores management systems, platform-launcher-stores integration, special test equipment, emulators/simulators/translators, weapon systems technology, unmanned air and ground systems, and specialized systems engineering and test and evaluation. Our test equipment can be found in aircraft and systems integration laboratories across the United States. Our software teams are well versed in advanced embedded real-time software technologies executed on compact ruggedized computing platforms. WINTEC also places strong emphasis on participation in integration standards organizations (e.g., SAE) including Universal Armament Interface (UAI), MIL-STD-1760E, MMSI, IMM, AFDX, JAUS, and exploration of advance fibre-channel and fiber-optic communications and interface technologies. This participation keeps us at the forefront of emerging technologies to meet our customers' needs.
Our software engineering expertise is founded on application of sound principles and processes—
and decades of software development and risk management. We espouse application of the core
principles of the Object Management Group Model Driven Architecture (MDA), Architecture & Analysis
Development Language (AADL), Universal Modeling Language (UML), and have operated within
software development teams at CMMI Level 5. WINTEC likewise offers longstanding expertise and
experience in development of hardware prototypes as well as performing limited-rate production of
electronic systems and components. Our design efforts are predicated upon performing comprehensive
and thorough requirements analyses, progressing through objective and tractable systems and software
development processes–and of paramount importance—culminating in rigorous and objective testing to
all design requirements.
